Odd Grenland is a
Norway football (soccer) club from the town of Skien. It was founded in
1894 and is the club which has won the Norwegian Football Cup the most times, last in 2000. After struggling in the lower divisions for many years, the club finally made it back to the Norwegian premier league in
1999 and has stayed there ever since. After a dreadful start to the
2005 campaign, Odd finally managed to crawl up from the relegation zone. However, the team conceded more goals than any other in the league. In
2006 the team had a good start, but after a terrible end of the season, gaining only one point in eight matches, they had to play a two-legged play-off against
Bryne F.K., which they won by 10-1 combined, which is the largest winning margin in Norwegian play-off history.
Home ground:
Odd Stadion (8,600). Largest crowd: Approx 12,500 people in 1984 cup semi final against Viking. The stadium will be rebuilt with a capacity of between 13,000 and 14,000, and will be ready for the
2007 season, and finished in 2008. It will then be given the name Skagerak Arena, after a local sponsor.
